Squawkin’ Good Showdown is a musical March Madness style tournament hosted by DJ McSquawk on WRUV. But instead of basketball teams, 32 artists heard on Squawkin’ Good Radio will go head to head, and you get to vote for who moves on!

Official Squawkin’ Good Showdown 2017 Bracket

Here’s how the tournament works: Each week, starting Wednesday, March 15, the artists who are up for voting in the current round will be played on that week’s edition of Squawkin’ Good Radio from 8-10 pm on WRUV. Two artists will be paired up in each round to compete for your votes. The one that gets more votes moves on to the next round and will be played on that next week’s show. This will continue until my April 19th show where the champion will be crowned, who you, the listeners, have picked as your favorite Squawkin’ Good artist of the 2016-2017 school year!

This year, the tournament is split into four divisions: Fire, Earth, Air, and Water. One champion will be crowned from each division, who will each get a special Spotify playlist and writeup on this page. These four will then compete for the grand prize – a special show dedicated to their music on April 19th, featuring their music as well as remixes and covers of their songs and music from their side projects and related artists.
